About

Stern's Avatar is based on James Cameron's 2009 film and is built around the battle between the Na'vi and the RDA. Designed by John Borg, it has a distinctive upper playfield and a central Avatar figure that give the game a strong physical identity.

The game revolves around completing missions and building towards the major multiballs, with the various characters and creatures providing the structure. It is a more tactical game than its spectacular presentation initially suggests.

It is also one of those Sterns that can reward a player who understands the rules far more than one who simply shoots whatever is lit. Know which side you're fighting for before you start shooting.

Guides here are compiled against the machine’s published rules, credited to what they were built from, and dated. That makes them slow: the machines standing on the most UK floors get one first — but anyone who plays this machine can write their own.
