About
Avengers: Infinity Quest is one of Stern's more technically interesting modern machines. The central idea is simple enough, collect the six Infinity Gems before Thanos does, but the physical playfield throws magnets, ramps, targets and the Dr Strange Sling Ring into the mix. The Avengers Tower magnetic lock is particularly impressive, catching balls in mid-air as you work towards Iron Man Multiball.
It is a game that can look intimidating to a new player because there are targets everywhere and the display is constantly telling you something. Once you understand the gem system, though, the game becomes much easier to read.
The UK scene has plenty of Avengers machines in circulation, particularly at larger collections and tournament venues. Don't try to understand the entire game at once; pick an Infinity Gem and work out how to qualify it.

Soul Gem Hard Mode offers 10x scoring, but fewer flips allowed. Soul Gem has < 10 objectives - a bad Hard run can outscore good Normal runs.

Portal Locks give Quest scoring multipliers. If MB is still active when battle is won, Victory Laps begin! Start Thor/Iron Man MB to extend!

Portal Locks are earned several different ways - combos, DT Grid line award, Hawkeye Challenge, and more. Just 1 adds Ball Saver to a mode!

Super Disc can be lucrative. Pair w Reality/Mind Gem mode and Thor/Iron Man Multi. 40 sec timer resets if start another super mode during.

You're best off having Thor Multiball on standby before starting a mode. That makes it a little easier
