About

Dirty Harry is Williams’ take on Clint Eastwood’s uncompromising San Francisco detective, with the game built around Harry Callahan’s investigations and confrontations with criminals.

The machine uses the film’s weapons, characters and police imagery to create a game that feels suitably aggressive. The gun mechanism is one of its defining features, while the various shots and modes represent Harry’s attempts to bring the criminals to justice.

It has the directness associated with many Williams games of the period: understand the objective, make the shot and move on to the next problem. Do what Harry would do; identify the target and don’t waste ammunition.

Guides here are compiled against the machine’s published rules, credited to what they were built from, and dated. That makes them slow: the machines standing on the most UK floors get one first — but anyone who plays this machine can write their own.
