UK Machine Record
Gorgar
Williams · 1979 · at 2 UK venues.
Gorgar is one of the landmark machines in pinball history and the first pinball machine to feature speech. Williams created the game around a primitive but memorable artificial creature that threatens the player from the centre of the playfield.
The objective is relatively simple: hit the targets, build your progression and eventually confront Gorgar through increasingly valuable features. What makes the machine special is how much personality it creates with remarkably little technology.
The sound of Gorgar’s heartbeat and voice remains one of the most distinctive experiences in classic pinball. Listen to the machine. Gorgar is telling you how the game is going.

Guides here are compiled against the machine’s published rules, credited to what they were built from, and dated. That makes them slow: the machines standing on the most UK floors get one first — but anyone who plays this machine can write their own.

- General
Spinner is lit after scoring 10 bonus (and unlit after scoring 20).
- General
Snake pit is highest value single shot. Max value is 50k. Resets its value if lit for 20k or higher. Increase value by dropping GOR targets.
- General
1-2-3-4 will light the pit for 50K immediately. This is a OK if lit up in any order, but not recommended if you have to do them in order.
- General
Each completion of GAR target bank lights additional pop bumper. Lit pops score 1k per hit (and 100 when not lit)
- General
Use spinner during your window of opportunity, if spinner is lively on your game. Unlights for entire rest of ball at 20K bonus.
- General
For easy points, pass the ball off the tip of the flippers to the opposite side's inlanes. Just be careful not to drain in the outlane.

When all 3 pop bumpers are lit (2 or 3 GAR completions, depending on settings), each GAR drop target is worth 5K (that is, 15K/completion).

1-2-3-4 will light a star insert on PF. After 2 stars hit 1-2-3-4 again and a red arrow insert will 'walk' on 1..4. Hit to defeat Gorgar.

No tutorials for this machine
We only list videos from a short list of channels we rate, and we never run a search to fill the gap — so most machines have none here rather than a page of whatever YouTube would have returned.

Same short list of channels as the tutorials. A machine with no review here has not been passed over — it simply hasn’t been covered by anyone we list.
