UK Machine Record
Haunted House
Gottlieb · 1982 · at 1 UK venue.
Haunted House is one of Gottlieb’s most distinctive classic machines, using a three-level playfield to create the feeling of exploring an actual haunted building.
The upper, main and lower playfields give the machine a unique physical structure, with each section offering different targets and challenges. The lower playfield is particularly unusual, giving the player a completely different perspective on the game.
Its appeal comes as much from the physical design as the rules. Explore every floor of the house; the most dangerous room isn’t necessarily the one you can see first.

Guides here are compiled against the machine’s published rules, credited to what they were built from, and dated. That makes them slow: the machines standing on the most UK floors get one first — but anyone who plays this machine can write their own.

A short plunge to the rightmost saucer should send the ball to the upper playfield.
General4 tips
- General
Mind the gap in between the 2 right flippers. Holding the right flippers up makes it easy for the ball to drain into that gap.
- General
Sending the ball to either the upper or lower playfields advances bonus multiplier to a maximum of 5X.
- General
Four routes to lower playfield: upper left hole, secret passage, trap door under right ramp, and draining from left half of upper playfield.
- General
Complete either the lower or upper playfield drop target bank to light Extra Ball kickout on the main playfield, lower far right.

Light Special: lower drop target bank twice to light upper drop target bank, upper bank three times to light lower playfield kickout hole.

We only list videos from a short list of channels we rate, and we never run a search to fill the gap — so most machines have none here rather than a page of whatever YouTube would have returned.
