About

Led Zeppelin is Stern's attempt to turn one of the biggest rock bands in history into a playable concert. The game follows the band's career from 1968 to 1980 and uses ten songs as the backbone of its rules. The Hindenburg Zeppelin, Icarus and three steel ramps provide the physical highlights, while Premium and LE machines add the Electric Magic mechanism.

It is a fast, relatively open game that rewards players who can repeatedly find the major shots. The music changes as you progress, making it one of the Stern machines where the soundtrack is genuinely part of the game rather than background noise.

In the UK, Led Zeppelin has an obvious advantage: the band is British, and the machine feels like a particularly appropriate piece of rock history to encounter here. Play it loud, but remember the song progression matters more than the volume.

The song is the clock

Song modes are not a menu of equals and they do not wait for you. Each runs for exactly as long as the track does, and when the music ends so does your claim on that record.
