UK Machine Record
Red & Ted's Road Show
Williams · 1994 · at 2 UK venues.
Red & Ted’s Road Show takes Pat Lawlor’s trademark style and puts it on a cross-country road trip. Red and Ted dominate the playfield as you travel through America, completing construction projects and working towards increasingly valuable objectives.
The machine is packed with Lawlor’s characteristic mechanical ideas, but the road-trip structure gives the game a particularly strong sense of progression. The ramps, cities and character features all contribute to moving the journey forward.
It can look chaotic when you first approach it, but the underlying game is surprisingly logical once you understand the route. Keep the road trip moving. Sitting on one shot for too long is rarely the best way forward.

Don't skill shot on the first plunge—hit a yellow standup (or yellow bumper) to switch the city to Miami (NYC is a risky & low scoring mode)
Secrets & easter eggs3 tips
- Secrets & easter eggs
If Bob's Bunker on the DMD says "Uranium ore $3 a chunk", flip both flippers twice to start Construction Mania. All targets are 3M for 20s.
- Secrets & easter eggs
The "magic target" at the base of the top flipper awards free mode shots once per mode if you shoot bunker and don't flip the kickout.
- Secrets & easter eggs
There is a secret skill shot if you can shoot the bunker before hitting any other switch. It's "Bob's Lotto" and worth 500K.
General5 tips
- General
The Start City Scene scoop or Blast Hole start modes. To relight start mode you need 400 miles (ramps, loops, scoops, etc.).
- General
Some souvenirs + the right city = +10 mil to bonus for each. With 6X bonus, can turn into 300mil+ bonus pretty easily, so don't sell them!
- General
Advance bonus by hitting ramp combos (aka Bridge Out) up to 6x. One more Bridge Out shot awards one EB per game.
- General
Be sure to collect as many souvenirs as possible. Souvenirs may award big points during fun with bonus that can be multiplied.
- General
Some players after making it to the west coast will spend the rest of the game buying souvenirs to build up their bonus.
Wizard mode1 tip
- Wizard mode
Holy Grail: Light Flying Rocks -> Start Atlanta -> Magic Standup -> L Ramp -> L Shooter Lane -> 5x Blast Zone -> BZ = 200M+ & funky display
Multiball1 tip
- Multiball
Hit the bulldozer to advance to Friday to light lock. Lock 2 balls in Bob's Bunker then shoot Ted for MB. Jackpots alternate between heads.
Skill shot1 tip
- Skill shot
Plunge the Blast Hole skillshot for 5M+ points, a souvenir, and start the next city. It's safe and valuable. Also possible after ball save.

We only list videos from a short list of channels we rate, and we never run a search to fill the gap — so most machines have none here rather than a page of whatever YouTube would have returned.
