Super Mario Bros. brings Nintendo’s famous platform-game characters to Gottlieb pinball. Mario, Luigi and the Mushroom Kingdom provide the theme, while the playfield turns familiar elements of the video game into physical pinball objectives.
The machine captures the colourful world of Mario through its artwork, sounds and character features. The gameplay is much more traditional than the video game, but the theme makes the objectives immediately accessible.
It is a game where familiarity with Mario helps you understand the theme, but pinball skills still decide whether you survive. Collect what you can, avoid the hazards and get Mario to the end of the level.

During multiball, hit the castle for a jackpot worth 5 million. Each successive jackpot shot is worth double the previous one.

Hit the left inlane to light a bullet. Light all 4 bullets and shoot the castle to start video mode. Winning video mode is worth 30 million.

The game will automatically light multiball if you haven't activated it by your third ball.

Being SUPER enables double mode scoring if you start a mode, which could be far more valuable than destroying castles.

After a plunge, hit the Yoshi target in the upper playfield, the value of the skillshot goes up by 500,000 with each successive hit.
