Silverball guide · The Flintstones
Everything runs at once
Most machines of its era make you finish one thing before starting another. The Flintstones lets almost everything overlap, and that is where its scoring hides.
UK Machine Record
Williams · 1994 · at 9 UK venues.
The Flintstones is one of Williams’ great licence machines from the 1990s, designed by John Trudeau and packed with the humour and visual style of the original cartoon. Fred, Barney, Wilma and the rest of Bedrock provide the theme, while the game turns everyday Flintstones activities into pinball objectives.
The layout is fast and relatively open, with ramps, loops and character targets providing a satisfying mixture of flow and precision. The various modes give you plenty to work towards without making the game feel overly complicated.
It is a particularly good example of a machine where the licence and gameplay work together naturally. Don’t just chase the flashing characters; work out which objective is actually advancing your game.
