UK Machine Record
The Rolling Stones
Stern · 2011 · at 2 UK venues.
The Rolling Stones turns the band’s music and history into a concert-style pinball experience. Stern’s design uses the group’s songs, performances and imagery as the backbone of the rules.
Different songs provide different objectives, while the ramps and shots create a fast musical rhythm that encourages you to keep the ball moving. The deeper game comes from understanding how the song modes combine with the larger scoring features.
It is a machine where the soundtrack and gameplay naturally reinforce each other. Don’t just listen to the song; learn what the song wants you to shoot.

Guides here are compiled against the machine’s published rules, credited to what they were built from, and dated. That makes them slow: the machines standing on the most UK floors get one first — but anyone who plays this machine can write their own.

VIP bank adds time to modes, adds a ball in multiball. Add-a-ball takes priority, so complete a 2nd time to add time to running modes.
Skill shot3 tips
- Skill shot
Soft plunge for the super skill shot (located at top entrance of "Play Records" lane between the center & right ramp).
- Skill shot
Short plunge and pick off Rock Star targets without activating ball save. Then hit records shot for super skill shot.
- Skill shot
The benefit of short plunging is negated on the LE model due to a second switch in the plunger lane. Ball save timer starts when it is hit.
General8 tips
- General
Guitar targets lights combos. Hit ramps and orbits to make a 5-way combo. Pops and Records will end combo, but can be the 5th shot.
- General
Stack modes into Album or Rock Star MB to maximize points. Records has to be started first, then Licks, and then the MB.
- General
Collect records to light records multiball. Records multiball is Total Annihilation, with the records shot being the big payoff shot.
- General
In competition/tourney mode, records always appear in same order: Mixed Emotions, Happy, Love is Strong, then It's All About Rock 'n Roll.
- General
Happy and It's All About records modes allow you to permanently light records on all shots for the entirety of the mode (big points).
- General
Light all center playfield inserts to light Encore mini-wizard mode on the records shot. Hit all shots twice, then the super, for points.
- General
5-way combo lights "Super Combos" on the center ramp. Pummel that center ramp, and try to add time halfway through; 2X ramp = huge points.
- General
On the LE, the secondary buttons control outlane and middle posts. They are unlimited and stay up for a while. Abuse them after every shot.

No tutorials for this machine
We only list videos from a short list of channels we rate, and we never run a search to fill the gap — so most machines have none here rather than a page of whatever YouTube would have returned.
Nobody we follow has reviewed this one
Same short list of channels as the tutorials. A machine with no review here has not been passed over — it simply hasn’t been covered by anyone we list.
