About

The Walking Dead is one of the Stern games that divides players: it looks brutal, plays brutally and expects you to understand what is happening very quickly. John Borg and Lyman F. Sheats Jr. created the original game, and its reputation comes from a ruleset built around risk and reward rather than simply collecting points.

The Prison, Well Walker, crossbow and Bicycle Girl shots give the machine a distinctive identity. The game also asks you to make decisions about how aggressively you want to push towards bigger rewards.

It has become an important UK tournament machine because good players can extract enormous scores from a game that will happily kill an unprepared player almost immediately. If you're only going to remember one thing: don't confuse being busy with making progress.

The multiplier grows while you ignore it

Every second walker you kill lights an X above an inlane. Refuse to take it and it climbs, with no ceiling anyone has found. Most of the skill in this machine is deciding what to spend it on.
