About

Wizard! is a Bally machine inspired by The Who’s Tommy, featuring the iconic pinball imagery associated with the rock opera. It is an important example of the connection between rock music and pinball that would become even stronger in later decades.

The game itself is firmly rooted in 1970s pinball, with a relatively direct objective structure and a focus on targets, lanes and bonus progression.

The machine has a wonderful historical connection to the idea of the “pinball wizard”. Play it for the music, the artwork and the simple pleasure of making the shots.

Guides here are compiled against the machine’s published rules, credited to what they were built from, and dated. That makes them slow: the machines standing on the most UK floors get one first — but anyone who plays this machine can write their own.
