About

Stern's Godzilla is one of the most-located machines in the country. Unusually, both the Pro and the Premium are out on floors here, so which game you get depends on where you go, the Premium's tilting bridge and magnet-driven building are the visible difference between them.

It rewards preparation more than most modern Sterns. The scoring is stacked around knowing which shot starts what, and the gap between a player who has read the tips below and one who hasn't is enormous. If you only remember one thing before you put a pound in: both ramps, then the scoop.

Where the points actually are

Godzilla looks like a game about monsters and plays like a game about cities. The scoring lives in a bonus most players never collect on purpose.

What you’re looking at · 4
  1. The building

The tower in the middle of the playfield, and one of the five shots this game keeps coming back to. It is also where the Destruction Jackpot lights, once you have done the damage to earn it.

  2. The bridge

The span across the top right. Knock its integrity down in stages and it comes down, either ramp then starts Bridge Attack Multiball while Bridge Out! is flashing.

  3. Godzilla himself

The figure standing at the upper left. He is one of the two models a Pro cabinet does not have, so if he is missing you are playing the other machine.

  4. Mechagodzilla

The silver figure guarding the right side, and the other model a Pro goes without. The multiball named after him is worked up through the right spinner.

Shot on a Premium. Another edition of Godzilla may not have every feature named here. Written by Silverball
