About

KISS is one of the more unusual Stern music machines, built around the band's stage show and comic-book visual identity. The game uses the four band members as part of its scoring structure and has a deliberately theatrical presentation.

The layout is relatively straightforward by modern Stern standards, which makes the game approachable while still giving experienced players plenty of opportunity to improve their shot accuracy.

It is increasingly a machine you are more likely to encounter in a private collection than a mainstream arcade. Learn the four band members and you'll understand most of what the game is asking you to do.

The grid is the score, and it carries between balls

Stern's KISS looks like a song machine and mostly is not. The thing quietly deciding your game is the grid, which fills up from four different sets of targets and, on normal settings, survives the end of a ball.
