About

Rush is one of Stern's best examples of making a music licence actually behave like a music-based pinball machine. You travel through the band's history while playing ten Rush songs, with the music changing as you progress through the game's structure. The Time Machine, Clockwork Angels Clock and musical drop targets give it a lot more personality than simply putting a band's name on a cabinet.

The Premium and LE versions add the subway system and Dead End mechanism, while the LE also gets Stern's Expression Lighting System. But the Pro still contains the core game and plenty of the speed and flow that make Rush enjoyable.

This is a machine where rhythm genuinely matters. Don't just shoot the easiest shot; listen to what the game is doing and build your song progression.

The combos are not a side game

Rush looks like six song modes with a combo game bolted on the side. It is the other way round: the 1-2-3 combos hand you albums, albums arm The Weapon, and The Weapon is what finishes a song mode.
